The Business and Professional Skills courseware can help you earn college credit toward undergraduate online degree programs, continuing education units (CEU) that recognize time and effort spent in sharpening professional skills, or prepare for and maintain widely recognized business certifications. Credit is available from organizations like the University of Phoenix and Drexel University.
The Business and Professional Skills courses have been approved by the ASTD Institute and qualify for continuing professional education credit by global programs such as the Project Management Institute (PMI), the Human Resource Certification Institute (HRCI) and national standards groups like the Institute of Supply Management and the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy (NASBA).
Do you know the difference between certifications and certificate programs?
Certification is a voluntary action (vs. licensing, which is a requirement) by a professional group to establish a system to grant recognition to professionals who have met a stated level of training in addition to work experience. Certification exams measure mastery of knowledge gained through work experience.
Certificate programs award certificates once a course of study has been completed and an exam is passed. They do not require previous work experience. Many of the IT certifications fall under certificate programs.
Business Training Library also has courseware that can help learners prepare for business certification exams such as the Project Management Institute's PMP and CAPM, Human Resource Certification Institute's PHR and SPHR.
