About PopUp Blockers
Most popup blockers allow you to either selectively allow popups from some sites or temporarily disable their function altogether. We recommend that you temporarily disable all popup blocker software before attempting to access online courseware.
We provide instructions for the most common popup blockers below:

With virtually hundreds of popup blockers on the market today it is impossible to provide an all-inclusive manual. For instructions on other popup blockers, please refer to your popup blocker manufacturer's manual or website.
Notes:

In many cases there is more than one popup blocker installed on your computer. This being the case, you’ll need to disable all of them.
-
Other examples of popup blockers may be named "Ad Blocker" or "Window Killer," etc.

Sometimes a popup blocker may be installed even without your knowledge.
How to Disable the Google Toolbar PopUp Blocker
-
Locate the Google Toolbar, found beneath the address bar
-
Look for an area that lists a number and says, "
Blocked" next to it
-
Click on this area and the text will read, "
Popups Okay"

How to Disable the Yahoo Toolbar

Click the
Pop-Up Blocker toolbar icon

, or locate an area that reads, "Pop-Up Blocker" and click on the arrow pointing down

Look at the "Enable Pop-Up Blocker" line.

If there's a checkmark next to it, Pop-Up Blocker is enabled. Otherwise it's disabled.

You can also tell by the toolbar icon. It's yellow if enabled, and gray if disabled.
To turn Pop-Up Blocker on or off:
-
Click the Pop-Up Blocker menu.
-
Select "Enable Pop-Up Blocker".
-
If the checkmark was present, Pop-Up Blocker is now off. If the checkmark was not present, Pop-Up blocker is now enabled.
How to Disable the Windows Live/MSN Toolbar

When "allowed" is visible all popups will appear

When "blocked" is visible all popups will be blocked
How to Disabled the Windows XP Service Pack 2 PopUp Blocker with Internet Explorer 7
If you are using Windows XP SVP2 popup blocker, follow the steps below:

Open an Internet Explorer Window
-
Locate the Tools menu
-
Locate Turn On/Off Pop Up Blocker
-
The setting reads Turn On Pop Up Blocker when it is disabled
-
The setting reads Turn Off Pop-Up Blocker when it is on
-
By clicking on this option the popup blocker can be toggled on and off

How to Disable the Windows XP Service Pack 2 (SVP2) PopUp Blocker with Internet Explorer 6
If you are using Windows XP SVP2 popup blocker, follow the steps below:

Open an Internet Explorer window
-
Click Tools (on the upper menu)
-
Click Internet Options
-
Click the Privacy tab
-
Uncheck Block popups
-
Click Apply
-
Click OK
-
Close Internet Explorer then reopen
-
Make sure before you click the button at your login prompt that the Windows XP popup blocker is disabled (see illustration below)

How to Disable the Windows XP Service Pack 2 (SVP2) PopUp Blocker with Internet Explorer 6:
It is possible that you may not see the method described above on your PC. Instead, please follow the instructions below to disable Windows' built in popup blocker:

From the Menu select Tools.
-
Locate the area that says Turn On/Off Popup Blocker, or it may say Popup Blocker Settings.

Note that if Turn On Popup Blocker is visible the popup blocker for Windows is disabled.

If Turn Off Popup Blocker is visible, then the Windows popup blocker is enabled, and will need to be turned off.

To change the state of the Windows popup blocker, click on the option, and it should change from Turn On to Turn Off or vice versa.

Be sure that the option for Turn On Popup Blocker is visible.
How to Disable the Norton Internet Security 2006 PopUp Blocker:
1.Open Norton Internet Security's/Firewall’s main window and either:
a. Click the firewall icon on the system tray (shown below), or
b. Click Start~Programs~Norton Firewall
2. Click on Ad Blocking
3. Uncheck the box next to Turn on Ad Blocking


How to Disable the Norton Internet Security 2005 Firewall PopUp Blocker:
If you are using Norton Internet Security/Firewall popup blocker, follow the steps below:

Open Norton Internet Security's/Firewall’s main window and either:

Click the firewall icon on the system tray, or
-
Click Start~Programs~Norton Firewall

Click Ad Blocking
-
Click Turn Off
